Ivern a year ago Pretty good

I'm kinda mad. "What is it now, Ivern? What the fück did you do?", you will surely say. You prejudiced slût. WHY DO YOU ASSUME IT'S MY FAULT? MAYBE I'M INNOCENT! MAYBE I'M ACTUALLY INCAPABLE OF BEING WRONG?! Maybe I'm very cute, and very quirky, and this manga fücked up big time.

If you asked me about it after the first season, I would have given it a glowing review. The art was warm, it had attention to both details and clothes, the character design was appealing. I liked the writing, too, attentive to the emotional baggage a childhood of abuse could bring down even on a adult mind. The characterization was coherent, the cast was sweet as all hèll, and overall I enjoyed it thoroughly. It had the potential to tell an intriguing story about an absolute heinous FILTH (Father I'd Like to Hit), and a great protagonist.

Then came the start of the second season. I'm convinced someone ambushed the manga in an alley and injected a buttload of crack directly into its heart with a pump. The art style changed, for the worse. The faces, while different, are the only thing remaining decent. The anatomy shat itself multiple times over. The pacing, very relaxed in the first season, was crazed into a frankly appalling frenzy from chapter 50 onwards. It's hilarious. Like it fell down 37 flights of stairs. And still it is falling.

The first season was a great 5 stars. The second, as of now, struggles to reach 3. Grading it on the Ivern Scale™️ is currently impossible, so I'll just make an average at 4. And I'm kinda genuinely sad about what happened to it.
